This is where I come up with ideas for my paintings! First, I come up with a concept; basically what I want my painting to be about. Then, I draw two thumbnails, which prep me to find references and draw my half page sketch. After I draw two thumbnails, I search for references, (only fine art if possible). Finally, after I have found the references I want to use, I draw the half page sketch. Drawing the half page sketch is the final step to be well on your way to starting a painting.
